Sweden - Post 1

May 4 - 11, 2018

We really liked Sweden. Only visited the southern part of the country, but what we saw was beautiful. We also had perfect weather. The locals said we were very lucky to have warm sunny weather.

Moesgaard Museum

We both really enjoyed the Moesgaard Museum. I would say it is one of the best museums we have ever visited and we have been to a lot!

 The museum building with its' sloping grass covered roof. You can walk on the roof and enjoy the views of the surrounding countryside.

 Evolution Stairway - leads you to the prehistory exhibitions.

 Lucy - She lived over 3 million years ago. She is the first reconstruction you meet on the stairway.

 Queen Tove and a carpenter. Two of the figures in an area that explained how the vikings lived. The figures described their lives. They were very realistic.

 Artifacts - One of the interesting ways they displayed found items was to show how they were found, suspended in layers without the surrounding dirt.

 Grauballe Man - The world's best preserved body from a bog from the Iron Age.

Denmark

Post 1 - April 28th - May 2nd

Nakskov, Denmark near Lango

Peter Hansen's Have - A very large private garden.

Spring flowers were everywhere.

The small lakes and ponds had thousands of green frogs around them. When you got near they jumped into the water.

There were dikes along the coast. They made really good walking paths.

Ega Marina near Aarhus. We spent most nights camped in marinas. They have all the facilities and great views.

Aero Island, Denmark

Aeroskobing was full of colorful old houses.

Everywhere we went in Denmark there were community gardens. This patch was devoted to relaxing instead of growing vegetable. Looked good to me!
