Quilts

3 Pears Quilt

Here is a picture of my Rogue Modern Quilters challenge quilt. Our challenge is to make an applique quilt with a modern design. You can use any type of applique, so I decided to do the method Sidnee Snell taught us. I used a photo I took of 3 pears and converted it into a pattern using photo editing software. The whole process of designing and sewing the quilt was a learning experience. I enjoyed every minute. The quilt will be displayed with the rest of the guilds quilts in the Mountain Stars Quilt Show the end of June. Hope I get to see pictures of all the quilts since I won't be able to see them in person.

Skiing in California

Mammoth Mountain

We went skiing at Mammoth Mountain the end of February. The weather was warm and sunny. The snow was in good shape as long as you stayed on the groomers. Mammoth is so big that we skied half the mountain one day and the other half the next. We had a great time skiing and visiting with Mitch and Missi.

I recorded our skiing on Strava. The app includes GPS tracking so it records where you have been. It's really neat how it maps out your day.
