Germany - Post 2

April 15 - 20, 2018

Freiburg

Freiburg Minister - Gothic cathedral in the center of town.

Beautiful old building in the central square, Munsterplatz.

 Streets in Freiburg

Student building at the university. As you can see, bikes are the best way to get around town.

Freiburg's version of the Fremont Bridge Troll in Seattle.

Titisee

 - lake and town of the same name.

Row boats and paddle boats for rent.

Our campsite. The campground was at the opposite end of the lake as the town. There was a wonderful path along the lake to town.

Fussen

 - a Bavarian town very near the Austrian boarder.

Late afternoon in Fussen

Sculpture in front of the tourist information center.

According to the map, Fussen is next to a large lake, but it was dry. There is ferry service on the lake that begins on May 1st, so I hope water arrives soon.

View of the mountains above Fussen.

 Schloss Neuschwanstein

View from Schloss Neuschwanstein.

Top of the Tegelberg Cable Car near Schwangau, Germany.

There were at least 20 or more para gliders in the air the whole time we were there. Someone was always taking off from the launch point. It was fun to watch.

The para gliders layout their sail, watch the wind instruments for the proper wind speed, then lift up the sail.

If the sail fills with the wind, they turn to face down the mountain, and run off the top of the cliff. It looks absolutely crazy.

There were hang gliders too.

Always lots of para gliders in the air.
