West Coast of South Africa

March 29 - April 6, 2019

We traveled down the west coast of South Africa alternating between the coast and a couple hundred kilometers inland. It is a beautiful area. The coast has white sand beaches or rugged rocky coastline and cool weather. Inland is high desert and mountains. Both had beautiful sunsets most nights.

Near Alexander Bay on the Orange River, the border with Namibia. Sand is all you see on the South African side.

As you travel south, the landscape changes from sand to rocky mountains. This photo is near Kamieskroon on the N7.

Kroon Lodge - our camp site for the night. As the sun set the clouds moved in and it looked like it would rain. We didn't get rain, but we did get a beautiful rainbow.
