Ulm and Cochem, Germany

July 29 - August 2, 2017

We visited Ulm Germany because someone suggested we do so. It was in the direction we were heading, so why not. It turned out to be an excellent stop. Ulm is beautiful and interesting. It mixes old and modern. There are scenic paths along the Danube River, which flows through the middle of town. The old town is full of crooked timber framed buildings. Everything was in easy walking distance from our overnight parking spot.

Cochem Germany was the end point of our Bike and Barge trip down the Moselle River. We arrived there before the trip to find a secure place to park the van for a week. We found a very nice small campsite at a winery in a nearby town. We lucked out. Cochem is a very busy tourist town. It's small enough to walk around and see all the sights, but you do have to fight the crowds. The town is situated on the banks of the Moselle, a very busy river with lots of tourists boats and shipping barges day and night.
